Wishing you were in the Smoky Mountains right now? A quick trip to the mountains is calling! Let us help you plan the perfect weekend with this itinerary for a Gatlinburg weekend getaway:

Day 1:

crockett's breakfast camp in gatlinburg tnBegin your day with a stroll through downtown Gatlinburg and breakfast at Crockett’s Breakfast Camp. From their famous cinnamon rolls to delicious scramblers, Crockett’s will become a new favorite! Do a little shopping afterward in The Village, a collection of unique European-inspired shops that contain a little bit of everything, more than just souvenirs! With beautiful greenery, sitting areas, and a fountain, this mini village is the most enjoyable shopping experience in Gatlinburg.

A trip to Anakeesta is a must for every Gatlinburg weekend getaway! Hours of adventure await you among the trees. Walk along the suspended bridges 50-60 feet in the air on the Treetop Skywalk and experience what it feels like to be a bird in the treetops! Thrill seekers will love the Zipline Adventure and the Rail Runner Mountain Coaster for some of the most incredible views. There are plenty of shopping and dining options up on the mountain. We suggest a flatbread pizza from  Kephart Cafe or a walking taco from Tennessee Side Car for lunch!

is an attraction for all ages, not just for the kids! You’ll love the massive displays of fish and marine life and won’t want to miss out on our indoor Glass Bottom Boat Adventure. With only 3 inches of glass separating you from the sharks and other creatures in the Shark Lagoon, it’s an exciting experience you’ll remember forever! Our Penguin Encounter is another tourist favorite, where you can meet the little creatures face-to-beak! Also, another perk of visiting the aquarium is that it’s a great place to cool off on those hot days.

steak dinnerAfter a full morning and afternoon of activities, you’re ready to relax and enjoy a big dinner at our Gatlinburg restaurant! Our extensive menu includes decadent starters such as our famous baked goat cheese and house-baked naan bread and entrees like our lemon thyme chicken and cavatelli pasta. But we’re most well-known for high-quality steaks and chops! Plus, we have one of the largest drink menus in the area and are happy to give you recommendations based on your meal and preferences. Situated in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, The Greenbrier combines Appalachian tradition and modern dining– you’ll want to come back over and over!

Day 2:

Enjoy a slow morning and breakfast in your cabin or hotel, or grab breakfast in town before heading to explore the Great Smoky Mountains National Park!

It wouldn’t be a Gatlinburg weekend getaway without a drive on the Cades Cove Loop Road.  It’s the best way to see the sights, and there are plenty of pull-offs to tour historic buildings, churches, and cabins. You can choose to hike, ride bikes, take a horseback riding trail, or stay in your car to view the beautiful scenery and wildlife. Hours seem to pass by in minutes when you’re enjoying nature, so take a picnic along with you. There are numerous picnic spots throughout the park with gorgeous views! Some of the sites we recommend are the Walker Sisters Cabin and the 2.6 paved trail to Laurel Falls is well worth taking! For some of the best mountain views, drive up to Clingmans Dome and take the short hike up to the tallest point.

cades cove loop road in the morningAfter your day in the Smokies, stop by The Greenbrier one last time for a refreshing drink before heading back home, or try one of our sister restaurants in the area, like Cumberland Jack’s!
