In 1964, Congress recognized Bourbon Whiskey as a distinctive product of the United States. In 2007, the US Senate declared September as “National Bourbon Heritage Month.” The recognition of this date is an observance that calls for the celebration of bourbon as America’s “Native Spirit.” Although Senate only recognized this in 2007, Kentucky has celebrated this American spirit every September thereafter. Join us at Greenbrier as we pay homage to Bourbon with bonus Greenbrier Whiskey Societies every Thursday in September and special allocated vault releases September 1st! Mark your calendars! Colonel WhiskeyWhiskey Society from 5:30 to 7:30pm featuring Colonel E.H. Taylor Small Batch
Join us as we kick off National Bourbon Heritage Month with the founding father of American Bourbon industry, Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. Aged inside century-old warehouses this is a true sipping bourbon that honors the uncompromising legacy of E.H. Taylor, Jr.

Whiskey Society from 5:30 to 7:30pm featuring Eagle Rare
Eagle Rare is a masterfully crafted and carefully aged for no less than 10 years. The nose is complex with aromas of toffee, orange peel, herbs, honey, leather, and oak. The taste is bold, dry, and delicate with notes of candied almonds and cocoa.

Whiskey Society from 5:30 to 7:30pm featuring Peg Leg Porker Pitmaster Reserve 15yr Batch No.1
Different than the traditional Lincoln County Process you see with most Tennessee Whiskey, Pitmaster Carey Bringle developed his own method wherein filtration occurs after aging and prior to bottling. In addition, Bringle’s method utilizes hickory charcoal filtration, instead of Lincoln’s maple charcoal, giving this bourbon a distinct smoke flavor.

Garrison Brothers WhiskeyWhiskey Society from 5:30 to 7:30pm featuring Garrison Brothers Small Batch Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Distilled and aged in Hye, Texas Garrison Brothers contends that the punishingly hot local climate allowed this whiskey to pull more flavors from its new American oak barrels as it aged. At just 4 years aged, this bourbon drinks more like a 10 year.

Whiskey Society from 5:30 to 7:30pm featuring Smoke Wagon Small Batch Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Sourced from Indiana, but aged in Nevada, this bourbon is made by combing the company’s older age stock with younger barrels and is non-chill filtered. On the palate, dry oak and leather are quickly overrun by the bright burst of rye spice. The spice lingers after adding a depth of heat to the finish throughout.
